Virginia M. Whitesell

Virginia Muriel Whitesell, age 90, passed away Friday, December 25, 2009. Virginia graduated from West High School in 1938 and was the valedictorian of her class. She worked many years for Ohio Bell, retiring in 1984. Virginia was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where she was involved in the Sonshine Club and enjoyed the Wednesday evening dinners. She also found enjoyment in traveling, going to the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee; taking care of her pets; and following politics. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bessie (Dickey) Whitesell. She is survived by her caregiver and special friend, Katherine “Kitty” Tiller; other relatives and friends including Jim and Nancy Crabtree and Rebecca Miller. Virginia’s life will be honored with a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 13 at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL 3030 W. Broad St. and visitation one hour prior from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Pastor Tim Lee will officiate. Interment to follow at Harrison Township Cemetery, South Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Cozy Cat Cottage, 62 Village Pointe Dr., Powell, OH 43065
