

Wallace Edward Hartman, age 93 of Delaware, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015. Wallace was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, son of the late Walter George and Augusta Hartman. Also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Burns, and siblings, Rose Matz, Margaret Brecht, Caroline Osban, and Kenneth Hartman. Wallace graduated from Carrick High School, Class of 1941. Following, he proudly served his country during WWII with the U.S. Army Signal Corp. in Europe. He retired from ATandT with 37 years of dedicated service. Wallace was a member of the Fighting Hell Cats and was a Telephone Pioneer with ATandT. He enjoyed reading, camping, traveling, especially to Florida and the Smokey Mountains, and time spent as a Ham radio operator. He will be greatly missed by his children, Walter B. (Carole) Hartman and Dena (Brad) Vernon; granddaughters, Jaclyn and Jennafer Hartman and Katya and Leeza Vernon; great grandson, Hunter Burton; and other extended family members and dear friends.
Memorial service will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, September 13, 2015 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., with visitation from 2:00pm ~ 3:00pm prior to service.
