Walter Byron Nichols

Walt attended The Ohio State University on a golf caddy scholarship as an Evans Scholar, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. He then earned a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Xavier University. Walt had career as a special education teacher, where he spent most of it as a Career Tech Placement Coordinator for students at Tolles Career and Technical Center in Plain City.

Walt was an OSU Basketball fan and longtime season ticket holder. He enjoyed local and Broadway theatre, body boarding at the Litchfield Beach in South Carolina, and was an avid runner finishing 13 marathons.

Walt will be greatly missed by his wife, Wendy; daughters, Amy Nichols, Chris Allwine (Dan), and Courtney Ogorzaly (Matt); grandchildren, Ben, Abby and Lexi Allwine and Levi Ogorzaly; sister, Kay Huss; nephew, Brian Huss (Molly); and sister-in-law, Amy Neville (John). In addition to his parents, Walt was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Rick Huss.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
