Walter Jacob Wolske, Jr., known as “Cy,” passed away September 29, 2025, at the age of ninety-three. He was born on September 1, 1932, at White Cross Hospital in Columbus, Ohio to Walter J. Jacob and Isabelle M. Wolske. He grew up on far west side of Columbus graduating from West High School in 1950. Cy attended The Ohio State University, where he earned a J.D in 1956. He married his great love Linda J. Yaple, on August 4, 1956, and embarked on a 69-year adventure. In 1969, he formed a law partnership with Jason A. Blue. Wolske & Blue were legal pioneers in advertising on television, in the yellow pages and more. Cy spent his career fighting for 1000s of families who had suffered tragic injuries and losses. He was licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio and Kentucky, U.S. Federal District Court of Southern Ohio, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He was one of the early Presidents of the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers and a Board Member of the Columbus Jazz Arts Group. He was able to conduct at the Picnic at the Pops, one his greatest memories. For those who knew him there was no one else like Cy Wolske. There is not enough space here or even a book for that matter, to accurately describe this incredible man. Those who met or knew Cy have lasting memories and many stories to tell. Cy like so many others in Columbus, was a big Buckeye fan. Although he claimed to be a founding member of “The Get Rid of Woody Hayes” club! The most important thing to Cy was his family, he was a generous, loving, and proud Son, Brother, Uncle and most importantly Father and Grandfather. In his final days, his biggest worry was to soften the grief. He hated to see any of us cry. He preceded in death by his mother and father, sister Mary Lou Howard, niece Taffy Howard, Father and Mother in laws Roger and Mildred Yaple. Cy is survived by his best friend and partner, Linda Y. Wolske, sons Greg (Kelly), Doug (Tabore), Eric (Katherine), and daughter Sarah (Scott Frazier). Grandchildren, Joe, Meg, Ava, Jasper, Runo, and Alero Wolske. Madeline and Emma Donaldson; Brother and sister-in-law Newell and Mary Yaple and their family. Niece Candy Howard.
