

Wanda was born June 18, 1924 to the late William and Beulah (Beem) Sandusky. She was a 1942 graduate of Gahanna High School where she was on the honor roll and homecoming court. She attended The Ohio State University. Prior to her marriage to Fred Schnell, who preceded her in death in October of 2001, Wanda worked as secretary to Superintendent Jack Bolton, who introduced her to her husband at the Columbus airport. During the years raising her family, Wanda was a homemaker and later returned to work outside the home as Gahanna City Treasurer for a time and as a staff member for the Columbus Convention Bureau. She was the self-declared “Best Damn Cook in Gahanna.”
She is survived by her children Susie (John) Farrell, Bill (Nancy) Schnell, Jim (Missy) Schnell and Betsy (Gregg) Comtess; grandchildren Byrne Farrell, Molly (Patrick) Roush, Megan (Jeremy Jameson)Farrell, Mary Beth Schnell, Jim Schnell, Faith Comtess, Korey Comtess and Brian Schnell; great grandchildren Elly and Kellan Roush and Archer Jameson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Clifford and Arch Sandusky.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 3-5 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 East Johnstown Rd. where a service will be held at 5PM with the Reverend Dr. William Schnell officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at Mifflin Township Cemetery.
