

William Charles Abbey, age 20, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2012. He was born in Pittsburgh, Penn., on June 5, 1991. He graduated from New Albany High School in 2009, and he was currently attending Columbus State University where he studied graphic design. Will enjoyed art and photography, and he loved snowboarding and skateboarding in local skate parks. He shared his passion as a camp counselor at Woodward Skate Park in Woodward, Penn. He also enjoyed music and playing the drums. Will loved to be around people, and he especially enjoyed gatherings at the family home at Red River Camp in Bradford. He is survived by his mother, Amy Abbey of New Albany; siblings, Heather Abbey of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Jon B. Abbey, Jr. of New Albany; grandparents, Barbara and William Abbey of Bradford, Penn., and Penny Nichols of North Carolina; aunts, Suzanne (Tim) Funk of Harrisburg, Penn., Nancy (Tom) Collop of Atlanta, Judy Abbey of Bradford, Penn., and uncle Jay Nichols of Naples, Fla.; and many cousins, extended family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jon B. Abbey. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, where a funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
