

William Richard Anderson, August 1, 1926 to September 6, 2015. Survived by wife of 67 years, Joyce M. Anderson, children Jennifer Anderson Gleichauf, Christopher C. Anderson, grandchildren, Kristin, Ashley and David, as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by children, Shelley, Gregory, and Cynthia.
Born and raised in Port Clinton, Ohio, he graduated from Port Clinton High School and attended Findlay College. Bill was an avid sailor. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and was “Honor Man” in boot camp. He was a member of VFW and President of Port Clinton City Council. He was a real estate broker, member and president of Worthington Board of Realtors and a member of Columbus Board of Realtors. Bill and Joyce were the first husband-wife real estate “team” in Columbus. Charter members of Worthington Hills Country Club, he was chairman of the first tennis program. Bill and Joyce were co-chairs for the first annual Worthington Hills 4th of July parade, and later organized a World War II Veteran float for multiple years. Charter member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, he organized and sang in the church choir and was a regular soloist. He was a gentle man, devoted to family, God and country.
A Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Friday, September 11, at 10:00 am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 6899 Smoky Row Rd, Columbus, OH 43235, followed by a lunch and fellowship provided by St. Peter’s Lazarus Group.
Graveside Service and interment, with Military Honors, will be held Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m., at Roose Cemetery in Oak Harbor, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kobacker House Hospice, St. Peter’s Choir or St. Peter’s Lazarus Group.
