

William S. Fannin, Sr, 84, of New Albany, Ohio passed away July 21, 2018. He was born July 4, 1934 in Parkersburg, WV. He was raised in Mechanicsburg, Ohio where he graduated from Catawba High School and attended Nation Chapel Church. Bill started in business in 1958. He served as President of William Fannin Builders, Inc. and William Fannin Realty Inc; BIA of Central OH, President 1967, Builder of the Year in 1989 and 2003; Served as Ohio Home Builders Association President in 1973; Parade of Homes Builder and sponsor of the BIA Parade of Homes in 2003. Bill served as Area Vice President and Executive Committee for The National Association of Home Builders, and was a Senior Life Director for NAHB. He served on the BIA Foundation Board and Registered Builder committee. He was also a member of the Columbus Board of Realtors and served on the Better Business Bureau executive committee. Bill was a member of El Hajj, Aladdin Temple Hospitality Unit, the Royal Order of Jesters, 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Masons, Athletic Club of Columbus since 1965, New Albany Country Club and Pelican Marsh Country Club in Naples, Florida. He was a long-time member and served on the board at Bexley United Methodist Church, and most recently became a member of the New Albany United Methodist Church. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Will J. his mother, Mary Elizabeth (Smith), his wife Patricia and sister, Martha Jane Kiser. He is survived by his loving and devoted Nanci; son William Jr.; daughter Belinda (Bruce) Ressler of Texas; grandchildren Jay (Heather) Ressler and Amy (Johnny) Hernandez; sisters Betty (James) Welch and Bonnie (Neil) Freund; nieces, nephews, countless friends and colleagues. Family will welcome friends 2-4 and 6-8pm Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230 where services will be held at 10am Thursday, July 26, 2018; Dr. Frank Luchsinger and Fr. William Arnold presiding. Private family burial in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
