

William Warde Fennell, age 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 26, 2016, at The Sanctuary at Tuttle Crossing. Born on August 22, 1929, to the late Lloyd and Laura Fennell. He served in the United States Navy from 1946 to 1950 on board the USS JEFFERS DMS 27. He was the founder of W.W. Fennell and Sons Roofing, Inc. He owned and operated the Red Brick Inn, where he hosted many charity events. He had a great love for his family and friends, especially the yearly reunions with shipmates. Many will remember how he enjoyed attending OSU football games, cooking and entertaining at home. He loved to garden, sing, listen to music and Blatz beer. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Emilie M. Fennell. He will be missed by his children, William W. Fennell, II, Joseph (Sarah) Fennell, Mary Lou (Mike) Graham, Zane Fennell, Chad Fennell; grandchildren, William L. Fennell (Andee Feeney), Michael (Erin) Fennell, and Jarrett Graham; great granddaughter, Isabel Emilie Fennell; and bonus great grandchildren, Max and Quinn Hilliard; sister, Libby Kridler. The family will receive friends at a Celebration of Life Gathering at Cementos Italian Restaurant and Bar, 1940 Henderson Road, Columbus, OH on June 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Motts Military Museum 5075 South Hamilton Road, Groveport, OH 43125 in his memory.
