William Henry Mead

William Henry Mead V, age 79, of Hinckley, Ohio and formerly a resident of Pataskala and Columbus, died Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born March 5, 1935 in Youngstown, OH, the son of the late William Henry IV and Herma Cynthia (Welsh) Mead. William had a long and satisfying career in commercial construction taking him to many states in various positions and companies, finally retiring as Director Commercial Construction for Mid Ohio Development Co. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, his family was most important to him. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 57 years, Joanne (Thorley) Mead; children, Sharon (Gregg) Steele, William Henry (Nancy) Mead VI, Lisa L Mead (Christine Doherty), and Chad A. (Robin) Mead; 8 beloved grandchildren and two great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Laura Louise Billups. Bill was a member of Upper Arlington Lutheran Church. Memorial Service will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, 2300 Lytham Road, Columbus, OH 43220 with Pastor Paul Ulring officiating. Family will receive friends at a reception at the church immediately following the service. Private interment Pataskala Cemetery.
