William Melnick

William Melnick (Bill) Age 94 died on 10/11/2026. He earned a BA, MS, and PhD from the University of Pittsburgh. Served in the Army during the Korean conflict 1953-1955. Joined Ohio State faculty in 1965 as Audiologist in the Department of Otolaryngology with a joint appointment in the Department of Speech and Hearing Science. Retired in 1992 as Professor Emeritus. Bill was a Fellow of the American Speech, Language, Hearing Association and a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America. He is preceded in death

by his wife of 67 years, Frances G. and son Russell. He is survived by son Wade (Donna), Grandsons Ben (Elyse ), Nick (Holly), Casey (Jackie), and Zayne (Angelique); Granddaughters Alexandra (Sean) and Chloe (Corbin). Services will be private.
