

William Franklin “Bill” Milburn, Sr., SMSGT (RET) USAF, 64, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on May 21, 2013. Bill was born on October 17, 1948 in Springfield, IL to the late Everett and Daisy (Yates) Milburn. Bill moved to Minneapolis, MN at the age of 15 where he graduated from Edison High School. After graduation he entered the US Air Force. He was career military and retired after 25 years as an Aircraft Mechanic. After retirement he worked at Sears Lawn and Garden Center. Bill enjoyed spending time in his garage and trading stories with friends. Being with his grandchildren was his greatest joy. Bill was very proud of his children and their accomplishments. Christmas was his favorite holiday; he was one of Santa’s favorite helpers. Bill was a man that could fix anything. Bill loved to travel. He has been all over the United States and many foreign countries. Bill will be best remembered for his generosity and sense of humor. He had the greatest ability to make people laugh. Bill is a member of the Don Gentile American Legion Post #532, NAUS, and AMVETS Post #1928. As a husband, father, and grandfather there is nothing he would not do for his family. Preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Mary Krumheuer, Sharon Milburn, and Christina Milburn. Survived by the love of his life, his loving wife, Deanna Milburn of Columbus, OH; children, Anthony “Tony” (Vicki) Milburn of Haysville, KS, William F. “BJ” (Charmaine) Milburn Jr. of Columbus, OH, Carrie (Tony Tanner) Milburn of Columbus, OH, and Dana Tackett of Orient, OH; grandchildren, Kathy, Becca, Jacob, Payton, Kailynn, Dani, Sarah, Sami, Elliott, Josef, and Mya; great grandchildren, Timothy, Tanner, and Tatum; sisters, Karen Milburn of Dilworth, MN and Sheila Milburn of Dilworth, MN; brother, Larry (Linda) Milburn of Minneapolis, MN; and brother-in-law, Marvin Krumheuer of Moorhead, MN; many nieces, nephews; extended family members, Jason Tackett, Sam Martello, and Scott Montgomery; and many friends. Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad Street where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday with Military Honors.
