William C. Peterson

William C. Peterson, age 88, passed away at home on Thursday, March 28, 2019, with his wife of 47 years by his side. He was born on August 14, 1930, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late William and Agnes (Kuethe) Peterson and also preceded in death by sister Doris, and brother Kenneth. Bill served in the United States Marine Corps and then in the Air Force for 10 years. While in the Air Force he attended the Engineering School of San Bernardino Valley Community College. He was a supervisor in production at AVON Cosmetics where he retired after 21 years. After retirement, Bill worked part-time at Big Bear, which is now Giant Eagle. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #678 and belonged to the Shriners in Cincinnati. Bill was an avid Cincinnati Reds and OSU Buckeyes fan, enjoyed fishing, and most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Patsy; stepchildren, John (Felica) Slayton, Lisa Carroll and Rick Slayton; step-grandchildren, Jason (Shubha) Slayton, Nicole (Brad) Phillips, Myles Slayton, Jonathon Slayton, Jay Carroll and Jacqueline Carroll; six step-great-grandchildren; sister, Sue (Sam) Heath; and brother, Paul (Kay) Peterson. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221, where family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or online www.cancer.org.
