

William A. Snellgrove, age 73, of Columbus, died unexpectedly Friday, January 15, 2021 at Riverside Methodist Hospital with his family by his side. Bill was born May 5, 1947 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of William A. and Anne (Brantley) Snellgrove Jr. He retired from the mergers and acquisitions department of Ashland Oil Inc. following 38 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Cheryl Snellgrove; daughter, Tricia (Michael) Beachler, Columbus and their children, Megan (Alex) and Cory (fiancé, Charity); son, Scott (Jaymie) Snellgrove, Lancaster, OH and their children, Autumn, Zachary, Sean, Faith, Eddie, Ian, Peter, Magnolia, Philip, Rebecca and Thomas; Cheryl’s children, Jeffrey (J’Nel) Moser and their sons, Trenten and Jacob; Brooke (John) Moser and their children, Lauren, Alison, Lucas, Aubrey and Julia and great grandson, Matthew; Bryn (Doug) Coby and their daughters, Ella and Jillian. Also survived by a sister, Sally (Dennis) Nelson and brother, Robert (Tony Waguespack) Snellgrove and several nieces and nephews, all of Houston, TX. Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Rebecca “Becky” Snellgrove. He was a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech University and received a Master’s in Business Administration from University of Dayton. Bill was an active member of Overbrook Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder and a member of the Finance Committee. Bill’s passion was his family and Kiwanis. He was a lifetime active member of the Kiwanis Club of Northwest Columbus, where he was one of the founders of Northwest Kiwanis Soccer, past President, former club secretary, board and foundation board member and chairman of the License Agency committee. Bill was a charter member of I-Next Kiwanis Club and a past President. He was a Hixson Fellow, a charter Walter Zeller Fellow and a recipient of the Past International President’s Award. He was past Lieutenant Governor and current secretary of the 10-W Division of Kiwanis. Bill was very active on the Ohio Kiwanis District level as past Governor in 2011-2012 and a member of several state committees especially those with an emphasis on membership and Family. A Celebration of Bill Snellgrove's Life will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Overbrook Presbyterian Church, 4131 North High St., Columbus, OH 43214.
