

He was predeceased by his parents, Virgil A Wallace and Helen (Rae) Wallace; and his brother, Robert J Wallace. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jane E Wallace (nee Beck); his children, Doug (Jennie) Wallace, Dick (Carrie) Wallace, Beth (Ed) Cullen. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Bill was born in Warren, Ohio on December 31, 1932. Upon early graduation from Lakewood High School, he enrolled at the Ohio State University where he studied dentistry. After receiving his Doctor of Dental Science (DDS) from the College of Dentistry at Ohio State, he served in the U.S. Public Health Service on a Naval base in San Francisco, CA during the Korean War practicing general dentistry.
Once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye. In 1959, Bill and Jane moved back to Columbus, Ohio with their two young boys in tow and subsequently fathered his loving daughter the following year. He began his teaching career mentoring young aspiring dental students enrolled in the College of Dentistry at THE Ohio State University. He established an enduring legacy of teaching and research within the College of Dentistry serving as the head of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and later the Dean of the College. He provided dental services for the Ohio State football program as well as other athletic teams.
Upon retirement, Bill enjoyed motor homing across the United States with his wife, brother and sister-in-law as well as traveling to foreign countries. Bill will be remembered as a devoted husband, caring father, adored grandfather and great grandfather and notably a loyal Buckeye.
