William J. Zugschwert

Bill was born in Coshocton on December 4, 1929 to the late George and Zelma (Jones) Zugschwert. He along with his high school sweetheart and wife of 65 years, Patricia (Wise) Zugschwert, graduated from Linden McKinley with the class of 1948 and were married September 23, 1950. Bill served in the United States Army from 1952-53 and participated in the Korean Conflict. One of Bill's proudest accomplishments was becoming a firefighter. He was accepted into the Columbus Fire Department in 1955 and served until retirement in 1984. He also help form the Jefferson Township Fire Department in 1967 and served as Chief for many years. Bill was an accomplished carpenter, avid fisherman and golfer.

Along with his loving wife, Patty, Bill is survived by his daughters Vicki Martin, Jeanne (Bob) Stewart, Linda (Chris) Jarvis and Sue (Woody) Lilly; grandchildren Tobi, Trisha, Billy, Joey, Christy, Tony, Zach and Addison; 11 great grandchildren; sister Virginia and brother Paul. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sister Patsy.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 from 2-4PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. Gahanna. A private committal will be held in Jefferson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd. Newark 43055
