Benny Quartarone

Sebastiano (Benny) Quartarone was born on March 12, 1918 to Concetta Orifici and Ignazio Quartarone in the Bronx, NY. He passed away on December 16, 2012 at the age of 94. Benny was a life long resident of the Bronx. He was in the Army during WWII and worked for over 40 years as a union wire lather. Benny was an avid hunter, liked fishing and range shooting and he enjoyed Sunday dinners with his family. His greatest joy were his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Benny is survived by his daughter Maria DeMaio, sons Benny and Robert Quartarone; grandchildren Mia Orser, Christine Krasny, Chris DeMaio, Melissa Quartarone, Camella Quartarone, Michael DeMaio, Robert Quartarone, Sophia Quartarone and Monica Quartarone as well as 7 great grandchildren, brothers Ernest and Richard and sisters Anne Nardi and Yolanda Heitman. He is predeceased by his loving wife Josephine in 1994, his son in law Christopher DeMaio in 2007 and by Alfred Quartatone, Camello Quartarone and Josephine Tabacinski.

Family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 4-9pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service in Congers, NY. Mass of Christian burial on Thursday at 11am at Our Lady of Grace Church, Bronx, NY. Interment to follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum. Donations can be made in his memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Pets Alive in Middletown, NY.
