I meet Dave like so many through a sporting event and can see right off the bat how passionate and caring Dave was. I happened to have the pleasure of coaching Victoria in basketball for 5 years and the apple didn't fall far from the tree in her passion for sports. Whether we won or lost Dave always had a way of looking at the brighter side of things and even as a coach had a way to motivate me to keep my head up with the famous words "Ah coach we'll get them next time", well Dave you will be truly missed and I will keep my head up until we meet again. You have touched everyone you came in touch with and with that we have a piece of you which we all will carry with us each and everyday. GOD Bless you and your family, love the Denise Family

Dave (Fatty), I will always remember the good old days on 26 Ave, Vastola's basement, and Hampton Bays. It was great being your friend. Thanks for the memories and all the laughs.

My family has known the Burke family for 25 years. We will miss his smile and sense of humor. He was always making our daughter laugh when she visited. They had fun being silly together. The house will not be the same with out Dave. We will miss him greatly. We are so sorry for your loss. We are always here for you.

I miss him already. Dave and I became friends soon after our daughter's became close friends about five years ago. He treated my daughter like is own; vacation, trips to the beach, family events, countless meals, etc... We are forever grateful for your generosity. We both share that crazy/passionate love for sports, but it went to a higher level watching our daughter's play. We spent days with him and Gloria attending softball, basketball, swimming, etc.. It kept us very busy at the time, but I sure wish we still were doing it all over again. I know Dave was more emotional and barked at refs more than me. However, I did get ejected from a basketball game we were at, so I am one up on you Dave. I knew he was really into sports, when he would give me the forearm when I sat next to him. Too funny. He had a natural connection with children. My kids loved him and they will miss him dearly. I always was impressed how much energy he had. Although he was very ill recently, he NEVER let you know nor did he let it affect him. The last thing I did with Dave was, of course, a sporting event. We cheered on our family at a lacrosse game. Victoria was on one team and my niece, on the other. I still do not want to believe that we will not see him again. We will keep his spirit alive and never forget him. I am so saddened by this loss and will struggle to figure out why things like this happen.
Love to the Burke's, Tony Manzi
