You were truly one of the FInest. I enjoyed our time together in the 17th Precinct. You were a mentor and good friend. May God bless you and your family. 

My sincere condolences to all of you. So very sorry for this terrible loss. Lt. John Pade was such a nice man. He would always seem serious when I had any interactions with him. I could never tell if he was joking. Then he would smile. May he Rest in Peace. He will be missed. 

I got to know John from talking to him at several 41 reunions. He always liked to look at the old pictures of the South Bronx that I always brought with me . They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and that is true about John. Every picture he looked at he would have a story. He and his partner Billy Rath worked in the 41 during the busiest years in the 1970's. I would sit there and listen  to his adventures of patrolling the upper sectors of the 41, especially around the Charlotte Street area. It was sometimes hard to believe what the members of the 41 endured during those very busy years. They indeed paved the way for the future generation of 41 cops myself included. Like our World War 2 generation,  the 41 old timers are now passing away, but I consider myself fortunate to have been able to meet them and hear their stories. RIP John. Dan Donnelly 

I have been informed today of John's passing, my family and I are so very sorry for your loss I'm certain he was loved greatly and will be sorely missed by his wonderful wife and family. I had the privilege and honor to have worked with John on many days and dark nights where I felt safe with him and learned so many thing's I didn't know. he will be missed by many more people then you know.       

Dear Sylvia and family, I am truly heartbroken for you on this tremendous loss, and I know all of our neighbors are so deeply saddened as well.  I will fondly  remember all of the great “porch talks”  I had with John over the years, especially hearing all of the NYPD tales, and I will sorely miss watching, and listening to all of the wonderful and funny  interactions between John and all his beloved grand children.  He is a true inspiration to all of us in the neighborhood and I am deeply honored to  have been  his friend and neighbor.

So sorry to learn of John’s passing. Had the privilege and pleasure to work with John in the security department of Fordham University.  A real gentleman and great guy. Sincere condolences to the Pade family. RIP John, Bob Davan
