Joseph Barbagiovanni passed away unexpectedly on February 24, 2026 at 67 years old. Words cannot express the sorrow his family and friends are experiencing.
Joseph was born on July 18,1958 in Sicily, Italy, to Santo and Carmela Barbagiovanni. He carried his heritage proudly throughout his life, valuing family, hard work, and faith above all else.
On September 12, 1982, Joseph married the love of his life, Carmela “Milly” Fazio. Together, they built a life rooted in love, loyalty, and unwavering support. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Krystine and Samantha, who became his greatest pride and purpose.
Joseph earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Iona College and went on to become a Certified Public Accountant, specializing in forensic accounting. Through dedication, integrity, and tireless work ethic, he built a respected career and earned the trust and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
Above all his accomplishments, Joseph was a devoted husband, loving father, and adoring Papa. He was a cherished son, brother, uncle, cousin, mentor, partner, and friend. To his family, he was their rock; to others, a steady and dependable presence always ready to lend guidance, humor, or support.
Joseph had a vibrant personality and a gift for connection. Often the loudest voice in the room, he could strike up a conversation with anyone and leave them feeling like an old friend. He loved golf, a good laugh, and, most importantly, spending time with those he loved. His energy was contagious—he brought warmth, humor, and life wherever he went. His greatest joy came from shared moments and simple time together.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Milly; his daughters, Krystine and Samantha; his siblings, Maria, Carmela, Vincenzo and Salvatore; his three cherished grandchildren, with one more on the way; and countless relatives and dear friends who loved him deeply.
He was predeceased by his parents, Santo and Carmela, and his brother, Franceso.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Joseph on Sunday, March 1, 2026 from 4:00-8:00pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral in Congers. A mass will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 10:00am at St. Paul’s Church, followed by interment at Beechwoods Cemetery in New Rochelle.
Though our hearts are heavy with this profound loss, we will forever cherish his laughter, his voice, his stories, his presence, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
