Joseph F. Dwyer formally of Yonkers, New York, a resident of Poughkeepsie for the last 25 years, passed away November 22, 2014 at the age of 88. He was a graduate of Gorton High School and served in World War II as a merchant seaman. Joseph was predeceased by his parents Rose and Michael and younger brother Edward. He is survived by his sister Patricia Stephens of Middletown, NY and brother Donald, sister-in-law Veronica of Congers, NY as well as many nieces and nephews. Family will receive visitors at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, Congers, NY on Tuesday November 25, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at St. Paul’s Church at 10am. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Yonkers, NY.
