Joyce H. Voce

Joyce H. Voce of Congers, NY, 89 years old, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2021. Joyce was a longtime resident of Congers. She was born on March 3, 1932, to James and Vesta Carney. She graduated from St. Barnabas High School in the Bronx, attended Hunter College, and married the love of her life, Frank, in 1960.

Joyce was hard working, over the years, she was employed by Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, Standard Brands, Exxon, General Goods, Provident Bank, Town of Clarkstown, Clarkstown Schools, Board of education, Department of Motor Vehicles and eventually retiring from Rockland County Sewer Department as an inspector. She volunteered her time at Meals on Wheels and The Rockland Historical Society.

Joyce was a member of the Congers Seniors II. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, reading, making stained glass, tennis, and going to the beach. Joyce loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports, and loved playing board games with them.

She is survived by her sons Frank and Greg and daughter-in-laws Patricia and Christine. She is also survived by grandchildren Frank IV, Christopher, Gregory, and Carley. She was predeceased by her loving husband Frank II and loving son James. Joyce will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3-7 pm at Higgins Funeral Home in Congers, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, 10 am, St. Paul's Church, Congers, NY, followed by interment at Loescher Veterans Memorial Cemetery,New Hempstead, NY.
