

Komalan Kunjupillai, of New City, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. He was born on December 19, 1946. Komalan is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Radhamani, his two sons Robi and Ricky, daughter-in-laws Mary Lee and Neethu, and his cherished grandson Kendrick. He is also survived by his three brothers and three sisters. As the eldest of eight children, Komalan was a guiding presence and steady pillar for his family throughout his life.
Komalan proudly served in the Indian Air Force, having enlisted in 1966 and completing ten years of honorable service. His time in the Air Force shaped his lifelong values of discipline, humility, and service to others.
In 1971, Komalan met the love of his life, beginning a marriage rooted in devotion, patience, and mutual respect. Family was always at the center of his world, and he took great pride in his role as a husband, father, and grandfather. He especially treasured the time spent with his grandson, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Komalan was a founding member of the Sivagiri Ashram of North America, where he worked to promote the teachings of Sree Narayana Guru, centered on oneness, self-realization, and service to humanity. His spiritual commitment and quiet leadership left a lasting impact on the community he helped build.
Komalan Kunjupillai will be remembered for his calm presence, strong values, and a life lived in service to family, faith, and community. His legacy lives on through all who were touched by his life.
