Leonarda "Nellie" Landro

Leonarda ( Nellie) Landro entered into eternal rest on January 09, 2021 at her home in Valley Cottage with her loving family at her side. Nellie was born on June 04, 1927 in New York, NY to Carmela and Gerlando Borsellino. She was a stay at home mom who raised seven children. Once all the children were in school, she returned to work for Manufacturers Hanover Trust in New City, NY. She retired in 1985.

Nellie’s priority in life centered around her family and her faith. She was a member of St. Paul’s Parish in Congers, NY. Nellie is survived by her seven cherished children, Cathy Haak, Laurie Kinney, Gerri Landro, Sal Landro, John Landro, Alyson Sheridan and Gary Landro; her sons and daughters-in-laws, Gene Kinney, Kathy Landro, Ryan Sheridan and Maureen Landro; her beloved grandchildren Jessica (Jake), Christopher (Ann) , Michelle (Matt), Eric (Jeannie), Gina (Vin), Danielle, Johnny, Patrick ( Maddie), Nicholas and Dana; and 14 great grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her loving husband Pasquale, her brother Joseph Borsellino and her son-in-law Andy Haak. Nellie will be dearly missed and always remembered in the hearts of those who knew her, as the spunky woman that she was.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 12 from 3-7pm at Higgins Funeral Home 113 Lake Road, Congers, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am in St. Pauls Church in Congers with burial to follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet.

Well I have known Nellie along time emend though she is my neighbors mom What a warm and spirited woman. Always up for parties garage sales tricky trays and anything else to join her family and enjoy happy moments Always happy and thoroughly enjoyed life and her family she will be truly missed making meatballs in heaven god bless you my sweet friend 🙏🙏

As many years as we've been neighbors, can't help but touch our lives and the lives of my daughters. Never easy to say good bye but you will be dearly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Landro family.
