Margaret Toscano

Margaret Toscano of Congers, NY passed away on Tuesday, August 07, 2012. Margaret was born on August 22, 1917 to Paul and Nina (Carbuto) Delfino on Mulberry Street in New York City. Margaret worked in the Clarkstown School District as a cook and a cashier for many years. She was always known for her friendly smile and outgoing personality. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be forever missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her loving children; her son Louis, Jr. and his wife Ruth, her son Paul, and his wife Kathleen, her daughter Maria (Flannery) and her husband Jim, her daughter Nina and her fiancé Vartan Tchekmeian, her devoted brother Gino Delfino; many nieces and nephews; her seven adoring grandchildren and her pride and joy, the blessings of her life, 15 wonderful great-grandchildren. Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband of 69 years, Louis on June 5, 2009, her brother Tony Delfino, and her sister Lucy Welsh. Family will receive friends on Thursday August 9, 2012 from 3-7pm at Higgins Funeral Home in Congers, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 10th, 10am, at St. Paul’s Church, Congers, NY followed by entombment at Garden of Memories, Town of Washington Township, NJ.
