Maria Assunta Zottola

Maria Assunta Zottola, of Valley Cottage, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 29th, 2024. She is survived by her son Ralph, daughter Elizabeth, son-in-law Jack, and daughter-in-law Erin. She is also survived by her granddaughter Dominique, grandson John Thomas, grandson-in-law Joseph, and dearly loved by hundreds of her extended family and friends. She was predeceased in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Dominick. She was a mom and Nonna to everyone with her beautiful soul, smile, generosity, kindness, and endless delicious food. She cooked with love for all that had the honor of being in her kitchen.

Maria was born in Spigno Saturnia, Italy to Edmundo and Anna on May 7th, 1938. She came to America where she met and married the love of her life Dominick in 1961. For 58 years their home was filled with family, food, fun, and unconditional love. Her children and grandchildren were her whole world.

While she is missed with every part of our hearts, there is comfort knowing she is at peace back with the love of her life. The impact of her love for those fortunate to have known her will remain forever.

A visitation for Maria will be held Friday, January 3, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., 113 Lake Road East, Congers, NY 10920. A mass will occur Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Paul's Catholic Church, 82 Lake Rd, Congers, NY 10920. An entombment will occur Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM at Ferncliff Cemetery, 280 Secor Rd, Hartsdale, NY 10530.
