Mary Ellen Murphy passed away on May 13, 2012. She was born in New York City on April 19, 1935 to Peter and Ellen Gallagher. She was a teacher for a long time at St. Paul’s Catholic School in Valley Cottage. Mary Ellen is survived by her loving husband Charles of 40 years and their daughters Siobhan and her husband Joe Beccalori, and Kathy and her husband Kirk Resewehr. She will be missed dearly by her grandchildren Joseph, Amanda and Peter Beccalori, Mackenzie, Jarrett and Jason Resewehr. Also surviving is her brother Robert Gallagher and sisters Margaret Healy and Kathleen Mayo. Mary Ellen is predeceased by her brother Peter Gallagher. Mary Ellen was truly a generous, kind, and loving person who will be missed by all who knew her. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Higgins FS, Congers. A mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday 11:30 am at St. Paul’s Church, Congers. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
