

Paul H. Pilgrim, 89, passed away on September 17, 2015 with his family at his side. Paul was born March 24, 1926 at Long Island City Hospital, Queens, to Paul H. Pilgrim Sr. and Josephine Bacon. Paul was raised in Scarsdale, NY and graduated Scarsdale High School. Paul entered the service in 1944. He was quietly proud of his service with the 10th Armored Division during World War II in Europe. Paul was present with the 10th Armored Division when it overran a Dachau sub camp in the Landsberg Region on April 27, 1945. After the service Paul earned a BA in economics from Iona College. He served as class president from 1950 to 1951. In 1954, Paul married Patricia Ruth Sweeney. A Valley Cottage resident since 1964, Paul was a member and longtime volunteer at St. Paul’s Parish. Paul was an avid sports, and especially a Football Giants fan. He was also champion leaf raker and potato masher. A loyal friend and compassionate soul. Paul was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Patricia in 2002 and by his sister Virginia (Morgan) in 1996. Paul is survived by his children: Pamela N. Brock (Jim) of Knoxville, TN; Paul H. Pilgrim III of Valley Cottage, NY and Tracey A. Johnson (Harold) of Pearl River, NY as well as grandchildren: James, Corinna, Caitlin, Harley and great grandson Grayson.
