

Rena Marie Kepler passed away peacefully on July 22, 2015 at the age of 91. Rena was born in Bogota, NJ on January 17, 1924 to Richard and Clara Derfuss. She attended Congers High School and then proudly served her country in the US Navy during WWII and was stationed in Key West. She worked at Lorston Photography Studio in Nyack, NY and Lederle Laboratories in Pearl River, NY for many years. She married Franklin Ford Kepler on July 21, 1956. Rena will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children Barbara and her husband Frank LaBrake, and Richard and his wife Jacqueline Kepler; her grandchildren Leigh and Matthew LaBrake and Valerie and Richard Kepler; her sisters Bobbie Buhler, Ruth Alstete, and Dale Moore and her brother Richard Derfuss. She was predeceased by her husband, Franklin Kepler, her brothers Edward and Donald Derfuss and her sister Norma Kiessling. Family will receive friends on Friday, July 24th, from 4-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in Congers, NY. Services will be held on Saturday, 10am, at the funeral home followed by interment at Gethsemane Cemetery, Rockland Lake, Congers, NY.
