Robert F. Nimmo

Robert (Bob) F. Nimmo of Congers, NY passed away peacefully on September 16, 2024. Bob was 92 years old. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Mary Kathleen Nimmo and children Margaret Whelan (Francis), Robert Nimmo (Melissa), Barbara Fuggini (Joe) and Marion Koenigs (Craig). In addition, Bob is survived by his grandchildren Elizabeth (Dave), Danny (Kristin), Drew (Sara), Natalie (Rachel), Christopher, Catherine, Michael, Caroline and Joseph and his great grandchildren Jack, Claire, William and Chloe. Bob cherished his family, and they cherished him dearly.

Bob was born in New York City to Thomas and Agnes Nimmo on February 12, 1932. Bob was a New York City police officer for over 35 years, retiring in 1991 as a Captain. Bob also was a veteran, serving initially in the U.S. Air Force and later in the U.S. Army Reserves. Bob was a life-long Yankees fan and loved going out to breakfast and an occasional glass of scotch whisky, but most of all Bob loved spending time at home with Kathleen and his family.

A visitation for Bob will be held Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., 113 Lake Road East, Congers, NY 10920. A funeral mass will occur Friday, September 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Paul's Catholic Church, 82 Lake Rd, Congers, NY 10920. A burial will occur Friday, September 27, 2024 from 11:15 AM to 11:45 AM at Gethsemane Cemetery, Rockland Lake Rd, Congers, NY 10920. A luncheon for family and friends will follow at La Terrazza in New City, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joe Raso Hospice Residence in New City, NY.
