Russell John Fitzpatrick entered peacefully into heaven on November 5, 2020. He was born on September 30, 1966 in Yonkers, New York to Russell and Judith Fitzpatrick. Russell has been a resident of Rockland County for 54 years.
Russell was an extremely talented athlete. Throughout his youth, he was involved with the Valley Cottage Indians as well as the Nyack-Valley Cottage Little League where he excelled in both baseball and football. Russell attended Nyack High School where he continued to demonstrate his talents in baseball, basketball, and football and found a lifelong love for the game of golf. He was the recipient of numerous awards throughout his athletic career. He often bragged about winning his senior superlative of “Best Looking.” Russell received his Associate’s Degree from Rockland Community College. As a member of the golf team, he proudly received an All American award. Russell had a larger than life personality and had an everlasting effect on everyone who met him.
Russell married the love of his life, Mindi, on November 11, 1995. They went on to have three beautiful children, Jared, Karlee, and Jack. Russell owned and operated a successful landscaping business for over thirty years. Russell was an avid sports fan. He loved the Yankees, Giants and Rangers, as well as the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Ironically, he also had a love for the GOAT, Tom Brady, who he drafted as his quarterback every year in Fantasy Football. Russell had a passion for music and attended countless concerts with his family and friends.
Above all else, he loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, children and dog, Layla; his mother in law, Judy Warren; his sisters, Kristin Callan and her husband John, Barbara Beebe and her husband Kurt, Jacqueline Meyers and her husband Shawn; his brother in law, David Warren and his wife Dara, and his sister in law Kari Warren and her husband Jeff; his nieces and nephews, Amanda and her husband Chris, Alexis, Abigail, Hannah, Luke, Max, and Jordan, and Jonathan, Michael, Brandon, Cole and Lily. He is predeceased by his parents, Russell and Judith Fitzpatrick and his father in law, Barry Warren. Russell will be missed by all.
Visiting will be held at Higgins Funeral Home in Congers, New York on Monday November 9, 2020 from 4-7 pm.
