My mother was Helen Isaacs Cornett and she and Bernice's mother Ruby were first cousins. We made frequent visits to their home in the 1950's and I remember having the best times. My Great Aunt Maggie was an absolute dear and Raymond would pick and sing on his guitar. My late sister Wilma and I played non-stop with Bernice, Kenny, and Linda and I can recall getting in trouble a couple of times. Bernice talked us into using an old car hood to float in the pond behind their home and, naturally, that turned into a disaster. We also got busted for playing in a mountain of coal across from their home and were forced to bathe in a tub in front of the family as our punishment. These stories make me laugh now and I hope Bernice had some good hearty laughs over her long and productive life. My sincere condolences to all her bereaved family and friends.

My mom and dad, Walter and Ina Mae Venable were friends of Raymond and Ruby back in Kentucky. As a little girl I remember going to their house and I am sure I met Bernice at that time. I wish I had realized who she was as an adult. I am so sorry for her passing and pray you will feel God in the days ahead.

I was a medical assistant at Dr Kapoors. Your mother and grandmother were two of my favorite patients. Bernice was funny, kind and talented. I still have a painting and a Christmas ornament she painted for me. We looked forward to her peanut brittle every Christmas. We always loved seeing them come. Prayers to your family. She was a wonderful lady.

Bernice and I became friends when we lived on Reid St. in 1967. She was always a sweet, kind person. She has been in my prayers for many, many years. Now her family is in my prayers. Sorry I'm unable to be at the funeral because I'm sick at this time. God bless you. Sending sympathy and love.
