OBITUARY

Irvin Sizemore

Irvin Sizemore, 84, of Connersville, died Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at Reid Health of Richmond.

Irvin was born in Clay County, Kentucky on October 11, 1935, to Robert and Mally Davidson Sizemore. Irvin attended local area schools in Kentucky. After thirty-six years Irvin retired form National Metal, however his greatest passion was farming. Irvin married Joyce Fredrick on May 28, 1955, in Liberty, Indiana they were married for sixty-five years until her death in 2018. He enjoyed gardening, raccoon hunting, fishing, boating, square dancing, and was an avid wood worker. Irvin was a member of the Columbia Church.

Irvin is survived by his son: James and his wife Mary of Connersville; daughters: Janet James and her husband Willard of Connersville; Joanne Sizemore and her husband Troy of North Carolina; sister Nancy Wilson of Richmond; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great child and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Joyce, and brothers: Estill, David, Bonnie, Everett and a sister Edith Collins.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday July 15, 2020, at 1 p.m. at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Irvin’s nephew Randy Sizemore will officiate. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery Garden of Memories. Friends may visit at the funeral an hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday. Memorial Contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.

I remember when we all had family reunions and we all go up to the loges house and grandpa Everett said the blessing but uncle Irvin would help get the food ready they use teach us younger generation how to hunt and fish and farm I also love listening to the story of the good day I kinda wish we still had family reunion 😞he was a great uncle you was took to soon 👼🏻

So sorry for your loss. Irvin was a good man. I remember when I went out to the garden spot he and Michael were tending and he took me up to see the cabin. I wanted to move in!! He will be missed but he is together again with Ms. Joyce.

I remember all the hogroasts Irvin would let my family have up at the big Cabin. I remember the one back in October that we had for My dads birthday, my grandmas birthday, my aunts anf mine as well. We roasted a big ole bog and enjoyed some cake and icecream with him and his lovely wife Joyce. Miss her and gonna miss him as well. Rest easy buddy ur gonna be missed Irvine.
