Obituary of Kathryn "Katy" M. Richardson
Kathryn “Katy” M. Richardson, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August, 22, 2021 at Heritage House in Connersville, Indiana. Katy was born in Barbourville, Kentucky on May 9, 1935 to Laura Lawson Fee. She was co-raised by Margaret and Noah Shelton. Katy attended schools in Barbourville and Connersville. She later earned the General Education Diploma in 1982, an accomplishment she was very proud of. Katy worked as a waitress at Doug’s Restaurant and Miller’s Cafeteria. She also worked for Hassler’s cleaners and was the owner of Richardson Grocery in Shelton’s Plat. Katy married Bonnie Richardson on Feb. 24, 1952 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Connersville. Katy was a member of the Lambda Chi Omega Sorority and the Fayette County Senior Center. In her free time, Katy enjoyed fishing, word searches, crossword puzzles and Bingo. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family. She will be missed by all of those who know and love her. Katy is survived by one son, Bill Richardson of Irvine, Kentucky.; three daughters: Shelia (Danny) Joy of Indianapolis, Karen (Mike) Johnson of Brookville, and Sheri Lynn Richardson, of Florence, Kentucky; six grandchildren: Jason (Carissa) Joy, Erica (Todd) Barrett, Craig (Kymberly) Richardson, Lisa (Joey) Sidell, Lesly (Matt) Perleberg, and Kaitlyn Richardson; thirteen great-grandchildren: Gavin and Kendall Joy, Kensington, Emerson, Easton and Sutton Barrett, Graham Richardson, Kinley and Jocie Sidell, Madison, Cayden and Owen Perleberg. Katy was preceded in death by her mother; her husband of forty-nine years, Bonnie Richardson; a great-grandson: Gage Ryder Joy; as well as several aunts and uncles. A Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastor Tim Bullips of Grace Church on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Friends may call on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Fayette County Senior Center
