In my early years Mary Ellen was truly a "2nd mom". I was at her house as much as mine (which was right across the road). She and my mom were buddies and did everything from canning together and dressing chickens. When we moved away, we only saw the Beavers now and then, and it was a great loss. But I'm so glad they were in our circle and we were in theirs. Mary Ellen loved her farm and her family well. She will be missed, but I'm so glad she isn't suffering any longer. Rest in Peace Mary Ellen, Sherry Gray

Mary Ellen was my 4-H leader throughout my 10 years, wonderful soul that was hard working and loved her family. Mary Ellen could always be found in the kitchen or gardening doing what she loved. I can remember working in tobacco and she would be out there with us, wonderful memories. My heart felt thoughts go out to your family.
