Ruby Roy

An Owsley County, Kentucky native, Ruby was the daughter of Henry and Louise Addison Reece, born January 9, 1924. She was a member of the Baptist church in Kentucky and moved to Connersville in 1967 to be near her family. Ruby had been employed at Philco-Ford for a few years. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and had been a collector of dolls. Ruby was a very loving and generous person. Visitors were always offered food and something to take with them when they left.

Ruby is survived by her daughters: Bernice Ross, Linda Spencer and her husband, Troy, all of Connersville; her siblings: George Reece and his wife, Betty of Franklin, Ohio; Willard Reece of Booneville, Kentucky; Donald Reece and his wife, Carolyn of Beattyville, Kentucky; Billy Reece of Beattyville, Kentucky; Naleen Combs of New Carlisle, Ohio; her grandchildren: Tony Spencer, Kenneth Marcum, Eddie Ross, Lisa Smith, Pamela Burk, Paula Jo Belknap; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by her first husband: Raymond Marcum; her second husband: Edwin Roy; her son Kenneth; her daughter: Ruth Ross; siblings: Pearl Solomn, Beulah Bowman, Robert and Estil Reece, Dorothy Bowman and Gola Mae Todd.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2017, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery.
