It is with profound sadness that we announce Sheri Lynn Walker, age 59, passed away peacefully the morning of March 22nd with her family by her side.

Sheri was born January 7th, 1961 in Muskegon Michigan to Anne Marie Rockwell.

In 1979 she met Mark Walker, her future husband. Their courtship started when Mark called her from a payphone at Kunkles Drive-In. They were married on November, 21st 1980. This was also the evening the Nation discovered who shot JR (Dallas). A joke that was made within the family up to her final days.

Sheri is survived by her husband, Mark Walker (Connersville). Children, Chad Walker (Elizabeth) and Courtney Walker. Grandchildren, Camden and Maddox Walker. Mother, Anne Marie Rockwell. Father, William Rockwell (Patricia Rockwell). Brother, Joseph Minnerick (Carol).

Sheri was an avid reader and collector of books. She enjoyed spending time at bookstores with her mother and son. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter Courtney and grandchildren, who she FaceTimed with every evening. She loved her dogs: Crue, Franki, and Bodhi.

At the time of her passing she was an officer manager at Aseracare Hospice. She had worked in the medical administration field since 1979.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday March 26 2020, at Dale Cemetery, section B.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County Animal Shelter, on Sheri's behalf.

I worked with Sheri for several years at AseraCare. I never had the pleasure of meeting her in person as I work in Arkansas. Sheri was such a great person to work with. We always shared little remarks to each other about various difficult work situations. I am so sorry for her loss. My prayers go out to her family.

Mark, Chad and Courtney,

My deepest sympathy to you and your family on the passing of Sheri. I didn't know she was sick until a few weeks ago. I wish I could have talked to her because I always enjoyed our conversations. She had a very special mother, Anne, and Stepfather, Rocky. I thought the world of all of them. Sheri will be greatly missed.

Sheri was a co-worker and friend of mine while I worked at Fayette in the early 90’s to 2000’s. Sheri taught me a lot when I first started at Fayette. I have often thought of Sheri and Mark over the years even though I have not seen them. Thoughts and prayers to Mark, Chad, Courtney, and Ann as they go through this difficult time.

Sheri and I were close friends in the early 80s. Chad and my boys grew up together and played ball together. Anne hired me at FMH and was my boss for a couple of years. Sheri took care of my boys for me as I went through the loss of my dad. She was a great friend. Life and jobs separated us as time went on. I thought of her often as Mark went through his bout of ill health. We've talked a few times over the years. It breaks my heart to know she's gone. But she is healed and whole now. She is pain free and we will see her again.
Rest in Heaven, Sheri.
Will always remember you.
Until we meet again, Roseann
