Thelma Geise

Thelma C.Geise, 98, of Connersville, died Thursday evening, April 25, 2019, at Hickory Creek of Connersville. Thelma was born in Albany, Kentucky, on February 4, 1921, to John and Ora Glidewell Madison. She attended Bentonville High School and was married to Malcolm Geise on October 10, 1937 in Erlanger, Kentucky. Thelma worked alongside her husband on the farm and lived in the home she went to as a young bride for 82 years. They were former members of the Connersville Elks where they enjoyed social events and playing cards. Thelma is survived by her daughter: Cheryl Johnson of Connersville; her grandchildren and their spouses: Melissa Siggers and Tom, Randy Cates, Benjamin Johnson, all of Connersville; Erika Johnson and Mark Enneking of Batesville; three great-grandchildren and their spouses: Ryan Siggers and Darcy of Connersville, Rachel Tipton and Shane of Greenfield, Clayton McKinley of Greenfield, Cecilia Cates of Connersville; her great-great-grandchildren: Paisley and Easton Tipton, Holden and Wade Siggers. In addition to her parents, Thelma is preceded into death by her husband of 73 years; her daughter: Brenda Stout; and two sisters: Ima Malkin and Golda Colvin. Private funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of the family at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Jay Rowe, officiating. Interment will follow in Orange Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made at the funeral home to the Bentonville Volunteer Fire Department.
