Uretha "Toots" Eunice Poe

Uretha E. “Toots” Poe, 93, currently a resident of Knox, died Sunday afternoon, July 22, 2018.
Toots was born April 21, 1925 in Connersville to Forrest and Nellie Beck Hudelson and lived the majority of her life in Connersville. She attended Connersville area schools and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Toots kept busy with church activities and as a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She loved being a grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her leisure time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles. Toots had been employed Booher’s and Ban-Box Dry Cleaners, Pizza King and the predecessor to Hickory Creek Nursing Home.
Toots is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Garry R. and Karen Poe of Hanna; her grandchildren: Scott Poe and his wife, Ronda of LaPorte; Eric Poe of Wanatah; Sarah Poe-Barron of Ft. Wayne; great-grandchildren: Tristen, Lauren and Steven Poe; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents,Toots was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Poe, who died September 10, 1981 and her siblings: Mary Hudelson Glover, Willard, Ralph, Donald and infant Jessie Poe.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Interment will follow in section K at Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wintersong Village Activity Fund.
