Richard Raidean Lassiter, 78, passed away at his home in Conway, Arkansas, on Saturday, July 13, 2019, after a short battle with Leukemia. Richard was born June 11, 1941 in a log cabin near Trumann, Arkansas. He married Theresa B. Smith on November 28, 1964 in Bono, Arkansas. He was an active member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Conway.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Loid B. Lassiter and Bernice Lassiter Bailey, brother Jack Lassiter, and sister Hilda Manning. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Theresa; two children, Danna (Curtis) Crook of Conway and Trey Chen of Chicago, Illinois; two grandchildren, his "Big Boy" Joshua Crook and his "Baby Doll" Mackenzie ' Crook of Conway; brother, Loid D. Lassiter of Arkansas; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At his request, no service will be held.

Please honor his memory by donating to your favorite children's charity. One of Richard's favorites was the Arkansas Baptist Children's Home in Monticello, Arkansas.

Dana, Teresa and family. So sorry to hear about Richard. Thanks for putting info in the PB paper. Am sure you still have lots of friends here. Still have good memories of the girls when we lived on Windwood. Again our condolences.

I have many fond memories of Richard. I was good friends with his younger sister, Hilda, and he was like a big brother to me, too. He pretty much taught me to drive, even pushing his little red car out of the ditch after I backed up too far--and putting me right back behind the wheel. The Lassiters included me and Na with their extended family for Christmas while my husband was in Viet Nam. I loved the whole Lassiter family.
