Vernon L Johnson

Vernon L. Johnson, 57, of Conway went to his heavenly home August 16, 2014. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was born December 27, 1956 in Marianna, Arkansas and confessed Christ at Bethlehem M.B. Church of Marianna, Arkansas and later relocated to Conway, Arkansas where he then joined Rock of Ages M.D. Church under the leadership of Pastor James E. Mackey, where he remained a faithful member until his departure. Dorothy L. Johnson, Vernon’s mother, and Yvette Johnson, his sister, preceded Vernon in death. Vernon leaves behind to cherish his memory four sisters, Renita Johnson (Troy) of Marianna, AR, Tuesday Hudson (Greg), Shanice and Shundra Pickett, all of Memphis, TN; two brothers, Victor Johnson of Marianna, AR and Kevin Vaughn (Colette) of Memphis, TN; three nieces, Tiquana Philpott (Josh) of Ft. Smith, AR, Katie Johnson Selders (Marcus) of Baton Rouge, LA and Teondria Johnson of Ft. Smith, AR; one nephew, Bryan Johnson (Lisa) of Russellville AR and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including two special cousins, Melcine and Willie “Pop” Davis of Marianna, AR. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Rock of Ages M.B. Church, 8112 Bicentennial Road, Maumelle, AR 72118. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Cemetery at Marianna, Arkansas.
