I've appreciated Wendy's upbeat attitude for years anytime I had to go into Kroger. She was so sociable and at times if I was cranky I just didn't go to the self checkout bc I didn't want to appear rude to someone so positive. I will never forget every winter when I would dye my blonde hair red she would come over and comment on it. She always asked about my dogs and told me about hers when she saw me buying dog food. Seeing her there every time I went in was a regular expectation and I went in today and noticed she wasn't there before I saw the memorial and got the news. There won't be a single visit in my future when I won't think of her and miss her. She was a fun lady that never met a stranger and had more energy than anyone I ever met. And she always kept me guessing on what she was gonna say next. 🙂

How sad to learn that we will no longer experience Wendy's joyous smile and friendly spirit at Kroger. It was such a joy to experience those through the years - especially those "good reports" while her cancer was in remission. We will miss her so very much.

I will always love you and remember you with a smile. You never had a bad day and if you did no one ever knew it. I was blessed to have you in my life and there will be a time when we will meet again. For now my heart hurts and my soul is crying but there will be that day that I am looking for and all will be singing again. Love you my friend and miss you. You make everyone’s world a bit brighter.

I worked with Wendy at Kroger for many years. She joined the night crew I think around 2004-2005 and we quickly discovered we had a common tie to Nebraska. She was always a very sweet lady to me and she knew what a big cornhusker fan I was, One night she came in the store with a small wooden “Nebraska Baby” as she called it and gave it to me as a gift. I still have that to this day and think of her every time I see it. When Wendy was diagnosed with cancer we talked a lot because she knew that my mother battled breast cancer in the 80s and 90s and unfortunately lost her battle as well. Even after I left Kroger in 2010 when she would see me in there or out anywhere else in Conway we always stayed caught up and she never lost that loving and warrior spirit she had. You will be missed Wendy I love you ❤️

One year Wendy myself and another friend spent many hours sewing and stuffing home made bears to donate to a nursing home. Treasured memories of her crafty skills and our working hard and long hours to complete the task.

I worked with Mrs. Wendy at Kroger. She always had a knack for knowing when something was wrong, and just how to brighten my day. She was always the person to tell you to keep keep your chin up to see the blessings you were about to receive. She has one of the most sweet, giving souls I've ever met. She even bought flowers at her work to give to the mothers shopping on Mother's Day. Rest Easy sweet, sweet lady.

Wendy was a very brave woman when she was going through cancer and always had a smile on her face. Little did we know that on the night that we saw her at the Brick Oven would be the last time. We will miss you deeply and you will never be forgotten. Rest In Peace dear friend.
