

Billie Jean Caskey Reaves, age 90, of Conyers, Ga. (formerly of McCamey, Texas) passed away after a short illness on May 26, 2011. She was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on June 18, 1920, to William King Caskey and Carolyn Thwing Caskey.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at 7:00 Pm at the Conyers First United Methodist Church with Dr. John Beyers and Rev. Dan Brokaw officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior in the narthex of the church.
There will be a second memorial service on Friday, June 3, 2011, at 10:00 AM at the McCamey First United Methodist Church in McCamey, Texas with Dr. Charles Alkula officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairmont Cemetery in San Angelo at 3:00 PM that day.
Billie moved to McCamey with her family in 1939. She had graduated high school in Hamlin, Texas. She met and married her husband, Ernest F. Reaves, in McCamey. She was a mother and homemaker. She worked as a bookkeeper and secretary, retiring from the McCamey Independent School System. She was a member of the McCamey First United Methodist Church and supported it for 65 years.
Upon the death of her husband in 1990, Billie moved to Conyers, GA, to be near her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. She became an active associate member of the Conyers First United Methodist Church joining the Maxwell Class, the senior choir, and the Dorcas Circle.
Billie was a loving, caring Christian woman. She always had a ready smile and a kind word to say.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ernest Frank Reaves, and her only sister, Bettye Johnson, of Austin, Texas.
She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Roger Willis of Conyers, GA; her granddaughter and great grandson, Alisa and Dalton Echols; her grandson, grand daughter-in-law, and two great grandchildren, David and Lisa Willis, Max and Sadie Willis of Atlanta, Ga. She also leaves several nieces and nephews in Texas and New Mexico.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either the Conyers First United Methodist Church or to the McCamey First United Methodist Church. Horis A. Ward’s Rockdale Chapel is serving the family, 770-918-8851.
