

Mary Virginia Lierly Bussard, 85, passed away on November 7, 2012. Mary passed away from complications from surgery. She was born on December 13, 1926, in Trenton, Missouri. She graduated from Forker High School. She received her B.A. in English from Kirksville Teacher's College, now known as Northeast Missouri State. She married John Bussard in September 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri where they raised three children. In 1972, the family moved to College Park, Georgia where Mary worked as a homemaker, substitute teacher, and later in administration at Forney Industries. It was during this time that they adopted their fourth child. John and Mary retired to Eatonton, Georgia where Mary kept busy gardening, caring for rescue animals, and caring for her husband.
Survivors include her children, Martha Ann Welsch (Stan Welsch) of Fort Collins, Colorado; Holly Beth Meyers of Conyers, Georgia; Mark Louis Bussard of Panama City, Florida; and Gayle J. Weber of Athens, Georgia; grandchildren, Mary Allen (Kyle Allen) of Covington, Georgia, and Mark Meyers of Conyers, Georgia.
Mary positively influenced the lives of those around her. She took an active interest in the education of all those who needed her help and guidance. Many people have benefited from her direction, and she has made the world a better place. No one took more pride in educational achievements than Mary Bussard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, and cousins. She was a wonderful person.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, November 12, 2012 At 6:00pm at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services - Conyers Chapel.
