

Richard attended the New York City Public School System.
Richard was an apprentice for carpenter’s local union #2790 in 1969, 20 years in the union. He finished his training then became a skilled craftsman. He earned a certificate for architectural drawing from June 17, 1070 to June 17, 1072.
He loved working with his hand. He had many hobbies, raising tropical fish, photography, and an avid chess player (who owned nine chess sets).
In later years, after retirement Richie became Mr. Co for Rockdale Senior Center, in Conyers, GA. He developed a passion for pool. He was surround and embraced by a team of angels: Susan, Winnie, Grace, Hildred, Gloria, Ron, David, Al, and many more. He established a network of unconditional love from these angels.
He had two exceptional friends from childhood whom walked many journeys with him: Dottie Hedgpeth and Charles White.
Richard was preceded in death by his father John Walters and a sister Joyce Young.
He is survived by his mother, Isabelle Robinson Young, three sisters and two brothers; Delores Clarke, Curtis Young, Laura Young, Michelle Young, and Larry young. Two sons; Richard Walters Jr. and Phillip Walters, one daughter, Simone Walters-Williams, one daughter-in-law, Marlene Gene and one son-in-law Raymond O. Williams. Six grandchildren; Nasi, Kayla, Idriys, Daniel, Azalena, and the baby girl Anima, one step-daughter Akiara, two godsons, Alexander R. Dent and Randolph R. Dent III, one goddaughter, Paris Justiniano, and a host of aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
