Ada was born on April 19, 1942, in Idabel, Oklahoma, to Elmer and Sammie Carter. She worked for many years as an accountant with John Deere, Case, and M&S Equipment. Later in life, she became a familiar face to many through her years of dedicated service at Tag’s Café.
Ada had a strong and spirited personality, always honest, direct, and never one to mince words. You always knew where you stood with her. Though she carried herself with a firm demeanor, Ada had a deeply caring heart and was always willing to help those in need.
She enjoyed camping, hunting, and traveling the country with her sister after retirement. A lover of country music and classic TV, she faithfully watched Perry Mason, Heat of the Night, Matlock, Gunsmoke, The Waltons, Bonanza, The Rifleman, and of course, Judge Judy.
Ada especially cherished her Utah family and held those relationships close to her heart.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Segura; her sister, Sharon Gill; as well as many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Sammie Carter; her stepfather Eddie Davis; her siblings, David Carter, Patsy Lay, Daniel Carter, Myra Lane, and Robert Carter; and by her first and second husbands, Glenn Wilkerson and Jim Culwell.
Ada’s life was marked by resilience, loyalty, and love—and her memory will remain a guiding light for those who knew her.
Per her adamant request, there will be no services.
