Alijah Anthony Christiansen-Monarez, age 24, passed away on August 22, 2026, just two days after celebrating his 24th birthday. Born on August 20, 2002, in Thornton, CO, he entered the world weighing 4 pounds, 6 ounces. On April 10, 2014, he moved to Coolidge, Arizona with his mother and siblings. Though his time was far too brief, the love, kindness, laughter, faith, and precious memories he gave so freely will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Family was the center of Alijah’s life. He was a beloved son to his devoted mother, and a protective and loving brother to his five siblings—steady in his support, unwavering in his loyalty, and present in the ways that mattered most, whether in life’s biggest moments or the smallest needs of an ordinary day. He carried himself with quiet humility and genuine respect, offering understanding and care with the natural manners of a true gentleman.

Alijah was also an amazing uncle to his niece and nephew, whom he adored with all his heart. He treasured time with them, delighted in their laughter, and took joy in being a positive, fun, and caring influence in their lives. The bond he shared with them was a source of deep happiness, and the memories they made together will be held close for years to come.

A 2021 graduate of Coolidge High School, Alijah pursued his passions with dedication and principle. He was an incredible football player who earned a scholarship, and football remained one of the great loves of his life. He also loved riding his motorcycle—an experience that brought him peace and a sense of freedom, allowing him to be fully present in the moment. He looked ahead with purpose to beginning his military journey and continuing to play football.

On March 29, 2026, Alijah was baptized at Crossroads Church in Casa Grande, AZ, alongside his family—an occasion of profound meaning to him. His faith in God was strong, and he spoke openly about God without hesitation or fear. He sought to live according to God’s commandments, held deep sympathy for the tragedies of the world, and remained confident in the coming of Christ.

Alijah’s presence could brighten any room. With a gift for humor and timing, he could make others laugh with ease—cracking jokes with the kind of spirited, unforgettable energy that brought people together. Yet his warmth was matched by his steadiness: he valued logic, stood on principle, and showed up when it counted. The good he did cannot be fully measured in words; it came simply from the goodness of his heart, and his smile had a way of lighting the world around him.

Alijah is survived by his loving family: his mother, Tonia Christiansen; brother, Marcelo Christiansen-Monarez; twin sister, Alayna Christiansen-Monarez; sisters, Navaya Christiansen and LaNeceya Christiansen; brother, Amari Christiansen; his niece, Aliyanna Monarez; and his nephew, Leovanni Jay Christiansen, who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
