Eventually moving to California, he met Gail Underhill and they married March 24, 1973. They had two children, Kassandra and Carl III. Settling in Coolidge he worked for Coolidge Schools as a bus driver and mechanic. Moving to Springerville and then on to California for several years, where he was a mechanic. He and his wife returned to Coolidge at the end of 2024.
Carl had a good heart and always helped people. He was from the “old school’ and always stopped to help people who were stranded needing roadside assistance. He loved hunting and fishing.
Carl is survived by his wife Gail and his son Carl. Also, survived by his sister Ginger Kiddle, Vicki Garrett (Dave) and brother David (Debra), 7 nieces and nephews. Although he had no grandchildren of his own, he is survived by several grandchildren by heart, who called him grandpa.
Carl was preceded in death by his father and mother, his sister Janie and beloved daughter Kassandra. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
