Carlos David Vega, of Santan, known to family and friends as "Thumper," passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, at the age of 61. He was born on September 5, 1964, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Carlos and Mida Vega.
A man of simple pleasures, Carlos had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether fishing or riding his bike, he found peace and contentment in nature, appreciating the quiet moments it offered. A fan of '70s and '80s country and rock-n-roll, his laid-back, easygoing nature reflected the music he loved. The nickname "Thumper" was given to him as a child, after he would kick his crib with his feet, a name that stayed with him throughout his life.
Carlos' greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his beloved dogs, Buddy and Gordon. He treasured fishing trips with his sons, creating memories that would last a lifetime. His two grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he adored them more than words can express.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Holly; his children, David, Angelica, and Veronica; his siblings, Pamela and John; and his cherished grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Antone; his parents, Carlos and Mida Vega; and his brother, Richard Vega.
Carlos will be remembered for his kindness, his quiet strength, and his unwavering love for those he held dear. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Graveside services will be held at Mesquite Cemetery on Thursday, September 18th, beginning at 7am.
