In his younger years, Cordell found joy and freedom in BMX riding, skateboarding, and breakdancing—pursuits that reflected an energetic spirit and a willingness to speak plainly and live honestly.
Music was a constant companion throughout his life. He listened to heavy metal, with Metalica as his favorite band, and he played the guitar. Cordell also expressed himself through art with steady talent and originality, including work as a tattooist. He enjoyed gaming as well, bringing the same focus and enthusiasm to his interests that he brought to the people around him.
Cordell will be remembered as someone who did not hold back his thoughts, yet carried a deep care for others. He was especially good with kids, and those who knew him best recognized a steady kindness beneath his directness—an enduring, genuine concern for the well-being of the people he loved.
Cordell is survived by his siblings, Georgina Morales, Cornell Lyons, and Georgette Lyons, and by two grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Lyons Jr. and Claudia Jackson; his daughters, Jeanette Lyons and Gaynelle Lyons; and his brother, Arnell Williams.
